This is not getting easier and easier; it's getting harder and harder. My stomach has been growling for about two days. It's all I can do to avoid overeating.
After spending 30 days mimicking the approximately 300-calories/day diet of prisoners in North Korean labor prisons, we two California women are embarking on a calorie-restriction program. We aim to virtually eliminate waseteful and unhealthy eating in our lives. We're starting our program by limiting our caloric intake to twice what we survived on during our food strike--600 calories per day. Ultimately, we're embarking on a "calorie restriction" food program that is proven to retard the aging process and prevent multiple diseases, including cancer.
